February 11, 2013 | Neal Marshall Grand Hall | 7-9PM
Come one, Come all! February 11th at 7pm, the Black Graduate Student Association is hosting its annual Black History Month poetry reading/panel discussion at the Neal Marshall Grand Hall. There will be food and jazz music. MFA poetry students Ciara Miller, Nandi Comer, and Shayla Lawson will read their poetry. There will also be a poetry reading and panel discussion from black MFA poetry professors Ross Gay, Adrian Matejka, and alum Kyle Dargan–each panelist has published a number of books and will share their wisdom regarding the state of black poetry/black art–what they believe it takes to talk about the real issues and to gain recognition. Don’t miss one of the greatest events of the year!
