Dr. Lois Leveen is a former professor at UCLA and Reed College will come to deliver a lecture at IU. Dr. Leveen is the author of the novel, The Secrets of Mary Bowser, about the former slave who became a spy for the Union army. The event is part of the colloquium, “Africana Studies and the Study of Race and Performance in Global Communities,” sponsored by the Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences.
