On Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. in the lobby of the IU Auditorium and at the invitation of the Bloomington faculty through their council, I will offer my first State of the Campus address to the community. This address is my opportunity to share my assessment of where we are as a campus within the global context of higher education, and to begin to outline the changing opportunities that context creates for our students, faculty and staff. It is a time of academic transformation at IU Bloomington. Following the framework described in the New Academic Directions report, our community has been committed to an imaginative transformation of our academic landscape. Through the School of Global and International Studies, the School of Public Health-Bloomington, the Integrated Program in the Environment, the reimagined School of Informatics and Computing, and the important discussions we are having about the future of communication, media, and journalism, we are moving thoughtfully toward our future. It is a great honor to serve IU Bloomington in this transformative period. I sincerely hope you will join me on Feb. 19.
