May 17 – July 13, 2013 | The Grunwald Gallery of Art
Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years and older creating work exploring sex, gender, sexuality, eroticism, reproduction, romantic relationship, and/or the human figure. Entries must be original works in any media including: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, sculpture, ceramics, fibers, mixed media, and performance pieces. Proposals for installations may be submitted, but artists are responsible for installing the work and for all expenses involved. Models must be 18 years or over, with model release forms provided upon request. Though artworks smaller than 60″ in any direction and less than 75 lbs. are preferred, larger works will be considered. Artists should keep in mind they are responsible for the shipping costs to and from the exhibit, and take this into consideration when submitting larger works. The jurors reserve the right to disqualify any work that varies from the submitted image including: artworks that are a different size than stated on the application, artworks that differ in quality from the submitted image, and artworks that arrive damaged.
Awards: All works selected by the jurors will be included in The Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show 2013 at the Grunwald Gallery of Arts, May 17 – July 13, 2013, and included in a virtual version of the exhibit on The Kinsey Institute website. An opening reception will take place at the Grunwald Gallery on May 17, 6-8PM. A cash prize of $300 will be awarded to the artist whose work is selected as “Best in Show.” A $200 prize will be awarded to the work voted “Gallery Visitors’ Choice” on the night of the opening reception.
