Hey guys! Have you ever wanted to talk with one of the sociology professors about their research in a casual, relaxed setting? Now you have the opportunity! SOC-IU will be hosting an informal pizza supper with Dr. Jessica Calarco on March 10, at 7 PM in Ballantine 004. Professor Calarco will be presenting a talk entitled “Class in the Classroom: Social Class and Help-Seeking in Elementary School” where she will discuss her research on how social class affects young children’s help-seeking behaviors in school. If you’re interested in ethnography, stratification, or the sociology of education, this event is for you! You’ll also have the opportunity to ask Dr. Calarco any questions you would like about her research. If you are interested in coming to this event, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by this Friday, March 7, so we can be sure to get enough food! Here’s Dr. Calarco’s bio if you would like to learn a little more about her research: http://www.indiana.edu/~soc/zbio_Calarco.html
Hope to see you all there!
